Find current against the bank. Less than 5 ft.

The bite was slow. Fish were holding in 5-6 foot of water outside of current breaks. Some were also caught on a DT 4 and ned rig. It was a very enjoyable day. The weather was great and spring is upon us. The fishing should only get better.

Out side of current seams with boulders. Slow moving ned rigs or drop shot was key to getting the fish to commit. The water level was 5.5 on the river gauge. The water was also slightly stained. I added scent to my plastic.

Was targeting smallmouth but ended up with a few largemouth in the river. Did catch some smallmouth on the smaller side. Was casting towards the laydowns on the bank and slowly crawling the sleeper craw back with a few hops. Largemouth were just sucking the craw in. very subtle bite. 12lb invisx line and using a 7'3" alpha angler zilla rod.

Amazing day of fishing and catching smallmouth ranging in size from 3 to 5 pounds! Water was high and muddy, so fish were hanging tight to the bank. But, they proved to be willing biters for most of the day.

The slow bite using ned rigs and tubes was not working. I sped it up cranking hard against the current in feeder creeks. It started producing steadily
