Grass did not look good, but the best of the worst held some small schools of decent fish."

Ben Demo
Lake Minnetonka (MN)
Ben Demo reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Texas Rigs (Pitch/Flip) technique and VMC Ringed HD Wide Gap Hook on Lake Minnetonka. Additional comments from this report: "(6/9/2022 water temp 68-71 west bays) Practice for tournament and in the post spawn you can truly do what ever your confidence bait is because they are biting everything and everywhere, I fished 8-15 foot weed lines with a craw tube best plastic in the state of Minnesota, caught a lot but all scattered not fully schooled yet, caught most of my fish on the thickest weed line patches."
Gamakatsu Superline EWG Hook
$4.49 – 23.99

Reported by
Michael Rekas
Lake of the Isles (MN)
Michael Rekas reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Texas Rigs (Pitch/Flip) technique and Gamakatsu Superline EWG Hook on Lake of the Isles. Additional comments from this report: "Finding submerged grass and shade-lines was key. Fish were pushed up into the grass and all the bites came in and close to shaded grass. Flipping a creature bait like the Big Bite Craw Tube worked, senko style baits worked as well. Weight size ranged anywhere from 1/4-3/8 oz usually un-pegged. Wind seemed to kill the bite, so looking for protected areas or calm days was important. Working the bait just consisted of a couple of pops then letting the bait fall back to the bottom. "

JLieu
Farquar Lake (MN)
JLieu reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Texas Rigs (Pitch/Flip) technique and Gamakatsu Superline EWG Hook on Farquar Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Tough day at 90 degrees right before the storms coming in for the weekend. Not much (if any) bites until we got further past the the midway point along the peninsula and pitched into the matted weeds along the coast line. From there, it was game on! Several bass hiding within the vegetation. Wife also had plenty of luck with jerkbaits on the other side of the lake where there were more fallen trees/branches from surrounding homes."

OhYahYouBetcha
Orchard Lake (MN)
OhYahYouBetcha reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Texas Rigs (Pitch/Flip) technique and Gamakatsu Superline EWG Hook on Orchard Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Flipping docks and lilipads has produced some decent sized large mouth bass. I use about a 1/2 oz bullet weight to get through the pads with either a craw or creature bait soft plastic on a 4/0 EWG hook. Black and blue has been successful for me. "
VMC Wide Gap Hook
$2.19 – 2.99

Reported by
SnowtaBass
Lake Jane (MN)
SnowtaBass reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Texas Rigs (Pitch/Flip) technique and VMC Wide Gap Hook on Lake Jane. Additional comments from this report: "The dock bite can be pretty decent on Jane in the summer time. The shallow water bass will be seeking shade and cover when the water temp rises. Target the docks with a Texas rig. I prefer around 1/4oz flipping weight but 3/8oz works great as well. Pitch and skip the bait underneath the dock as far back as you can get it, and work the bait slowly back to the boat. A majority of the time the bass will hit it on the fall. Also target any natural cover you may come across like trees and logs in the water."

Matt S
Lake Rebecca (MN)
Matt S reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Texas Rigs (Pitch/Flip) technique and VMC Wide Gap Hook on Lake Rebecca. Additional comments from this report: "Fished this lake on 7/17/22. Tough conditions (hot, no wind, bright/sunny). Water clarity was 2-5ft. Caught one good bass on the edge of lilly pads with a texas rigged senko. I also had one monster muskie follow my swim jig. Other than that it was a very slow day."

Erik Peterson
Chisago Lake (MN)
Erik Peterson reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Texas Rigs (Pitch/Flip) technique and VMC Wide Gap Hook on Chisago Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Water twmps are low to mid 60s and you'll find largemouth sitting on beds as Memorial Day approaches. Texas rigs, senkos or weightless flukes are producing. Look to areas with sand bottoms near stumps and reeds for spawning grounds. Sight fishing these can be productive. Don't rule out a frog bite if conditions are calm."

PunchFishing reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Texas Rigs (Pitch/Flip) technique and VMC Ringed HD Wide Gap Hook on Bald Eagle Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Flipping stretches of Lilly pads (there's LOTS of pads in Bald) can yield bass in all sizes. Some sections will be loaded, some won't. The typical flipping baits work, but we had success with the new Z-Man Billy Goat on a 1/2oz flipping weight. "
