VMC Neko Hook

$3.99 – $12.99

Reported by
Michael Rekas

Cedar Lake (76) (MN)

Michael Rekas reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Neko Rigs technique and VMC Neko Hook on Cedar Lake (76). Additional comments from this report: "Flipping/casting a heavier Neko rig around the outside of dying pads produced good bites. Work the Neko rig slowly back to the bank hopping and dragging it. Let the fish eat, then just lean into them. If you set too quick you will miss a lot of fish. Good luck"

Reported by
Bart

Lower Prior Lake (MN)

Bart reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Neko Rigs technique and VMC Neko Hook on Lower Prior Lake. Additional comments from this report: "The bite on Prior Lake this year has been MAJOR hot or cold. If you hit them right, they've been eating really well around bluegill beds in 8 - 14 ft of water. A Neko Rig has been a really effective way to get them to bite with a lot of pressure and boat traffic on the lake. A jig worm with a 7" ribbontail worm as also been good."

Reported by
Jackson Smith

Lake Minnewashta (MN)

Jackson Smith reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Neko Rigs technique and VMC Neko Hook on Lake Minnewashta. Additional comments from this report: "The big bass were chewing today! Caught 6 over 4 lbs and a bunch over 3. The fish were stacked up on steep drop offs from 2-5 ft to 10-12. Casting the Neko and wacky along the drop off was producing a lot and the wacky produced more as the sun got higher. Hope this helps. "

VMC Weedless Neko Hook

Reported by
Tim Blase

Coon Lake (MN)

When Coon is going it's a really fun lake to fish. You have to move around a lot and try different things to see what is working. In the summer I will typically start on offshore points keying on rock transitions. I have had my best success with neko rigs. Z-Man product have been good for me this year a neko rig. If the off shore stuff is not working I will pick up a frog and try to cover water till I run into them.

Reported by
Mark Charpentier

Gull Lake (MN)

Mark Charpentier reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Neko Rigs technique and VMC Weedless Neko Hook on Gull Lake . Additional comments from this report: "We got bass up to 4 lbs. on deep weed edges. The fish were in from the edge a few feet. Most bites came as you pulled the bait out of the weeds. Best bite was during the first few hours of the morning."

Fish Trap Lake (MN)

Omnia Community Member reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Neko Rigs technique and VMC Weedless Neko Hook on Fish Trap Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Had good luck dropping a wacky rigged 5" senko about 6"-12" inside the reed line edge. I used a couple quick jerks to keep the bait high until I crossed the reed edge, then let the bait fall skimming the tops of the weeds until about half way back to the boat. this method out produced every other tactic I worked that day."

Gamakatsu G-Finesse Stinger Neko Hook

$4.99

Reported by
Tim Miles

Adirondack Lake (NY)

Tim Miles reported catching Smallmouth Bass using the Neko Rigs technique and Gamakatsu G-Finesse Stinger Neko Hook on Adirondack Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Fished a small lake in the Adirondacks (canoes and kayaks only) in Essex County and found post-spawn smallmouth on rock piles. I caught fish on a lightly weighted Neko rigged Zoom Trick Worm in watermelon/red. The bite was slower than the previous day, necessitating a subtle approach. But, once I found the right rocks, I caught them consistently."

Reported by
David Baker

Perris Reservoir (CA)

Fished Neko rigs and drop shot in 15-25’ of water on rock piles in the east end had to fish pretty slow and shake worm in place only caught 5 bass but the fish looked great and pulled hard

Reported by
Lonnie Bloom

Lake Minnetonka (MN)

Lonnie Bloom reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Neko Rigs technique and Gamakatsu G-Finesse Stinger Neko Hook on Lake Minnetonka. Additional comments from this report: "Ran several different sections of docks during my last derb on Tonka, almost exclusively threw a Neko rig at them. Finding the docks with tips in 10fow or deeper proved the best for size provided there was good milfoil present near the end or underneath the dock. It worked well as a means to cover water quickly, skipping it up under each dock from 3 different angles as we rolled up to, in front of, and past, and then moving onto the next one. Dead paused on semi slack line and then dragging it maybe 3-4" and then pausing it again, hopping did not provide the same number of bites. If it didn't get eaten after that second pause, reel in and do it again. Kick up the trolling motor speed and burn em, doubling back and hitting them from the other direction produced more bite as well. "
