John Kerr
Lake Monona (WI)
John Kerr reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Texas Rigs (Worming) technique and Trokar TK110 EWG Worm Hook on Lake Monona. Additional comments from this report: "Fished the 2023 Badger State Kayak Championship on Saturday June 23. Figuring out the bite was a little challenging at first. Caught LM bass in the weeds on a frog and the zoom speed worm early in the day, but both were small. Then went to weed edges with a square bill in sexy shad colors and caught a few more. Then went right into the thick of the weeds with a Texas rigged zoom speed worm with 1/4 ounce tungsten weight, 15# fluorocarbon leader, 30# powerpro braid, on a Shimano curado K, omen black casting rod and started catching some quality LM. Give lake monona a try and go right into the weeds and pitch your worm around. You will not be disappointed. I did lose a few because I should have been using a MH or H action rod "
