Dan

Indian Lake (MN)

Dan reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Football Jigs technique and Strike King Rage Craw on Indian Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Spent a good hour and a half flipping the grass with a Texas rig and it wasn’t very production. Switched to a jig and caught 17” my first cast and a smaller 14” the second. The rest of the time was more of the same. Cruising the weed flats and slowing working through them and watching the pockets and irregularities in the grass. "

For Rod And Reel

Pleasant Lake (MI) (MI)

For Rod And Reel reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Football Jigs technique and Googan Baits Bandito Bug on Pleasant Lake (MI). Additional comments from this report: "Work the jig very very slow- slower than you've ever worked. Give it some little jumps and then some bigger pops too. most of the weeds have died off by this point. It's very windy though, so get some gloves or a coat ;) Jerkbaits are alright- just mainly try to work everything slowly with long pauses. For the jerk bait, pause up to about eight seconds if nothing is biting. The biggest problem with winter fishing this lake is just going too fast. "

Kent Lake (MI)

KeNnY sLaYzZZ reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Football Jigs technique and Googan Baits Bandito Bug on Kent Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Find the old river channel and drop black and blue or green pumpkin jigs down there. Also there are alot of bass schooled up at the big dropoff behind the west side island."

Powder

Old Hickory Lake (TN)

Powder reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Football Jigs technique and Googan Baits Bandito Bug on Old Hickory Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Find a point where the current washes past and creates an eddy. Look for 5-10’ of depth and drag a jig/trailer from the shallower water toward the deeper. Keep an eye out for any structure and target that first. Just be thorough - it’s a big lake with a fair amount of pressure year-round. Fish slowly and patiently. "

Strike King Rage Menace Grub

Luke Loewe

Lake Minnewashta (MN)

I caught around 15 bass with the biggest being almost 5 pounds all on football jigs on deep weed lines. A couple came on a Rapala DT-16 right over the tops of the weeds. I used my Livescope to locate the large schools of panfish that the bass were hanging around and would trow the football jig into those schools. Once it sunk below them into the weeds I would rip the jig out of the weeds to create reaction bites. The bass were schooled up and where I would catch one, most of the time there were more with it that I could see on livescope.

Horseshoe Lake (MN)

This lake doesn’t have a ton of structure and we scanned it pretty well, but we were able to find a rock point with some scattered weeds and they were stacked! We would slow roll football jigs over the rocks and they would hammer them. Then to keep them fired up we threw heavy jackhammers because the fish were so active. I pretty much always have a chatterbait of some sort tied up. Not a bad way to spend a Monday off.
