Dicky D reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Hard Topwater (Walking) technique and Dobyns Rods Champion XP Crankbait Rods on Upper Cormorant Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Just got back from Upper cormorant Lake for a week with my family. This was some of the most exciting topwater fishing I have ever seen. Water temperature was mid 70s and water clarity was maybe 1 - 2 feet due to a algal bloom. Fins any shallow water cover and hold on. This big bait seemed to really draw them to the bait. It really excelled in the morning and at the end of the day, but by the end of the trip I was throwing it all day. "

Pickwick Lake (AL)
Max Newkirk reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Hard Topwater (Walking) technique and Shimano Curado Casting Rods on Pickwick Lake. Additional comments from this report: "We caught 13.7lbs by fishing the edge of grass lines with a topwater. The bass would typically miss the topwater and we would throw in there with a tube or fluke and we would catch the fish. Finding grass in the back of pockets that had some depth would usually produce a few fish for us. "
