Brian Wileman
Guntersville Lake (AL)
Brian Wileman reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Large Hair Jigs (Preacher) technique and Ark Fishing Randall Tharp Honey Badger Series Casting Rods on Guntersville Lake. Additional comments from this report: "I had a couple hours to get out and fish Friday, so I went out to try and get better on the ledges. I hit some areas that I had fished before with no luck and was going to go to a spot from my last trip but someone beat me to it. When that happened I looked at my map and noticed a qaypoint that I had marked as a interesting looking area and went for it. Rolled over and saw a decent school. I tried a crankbait and noticed the school followed but didn't bite. After a few I threw the True Bass Shuttlecock hair jig at them and immediately had a bite but didn't hook up. Next cast h.i had the same miss but when I let it fall back, the fish hit it again. Fought the fish and got a 5.5 lber. The school follow the fish in so, I dropped a morning dawn probe on them and caught a 5 lber. Dropped back and caught a 4 lber. By that time I decided to jet before anyone saw me there, and I need to get off the water as well. Goes to show that if you can get on the water even if for a couple hours, do it. You might just find a good area and catch a few bigs."

LakeDelavanKid reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Large Hair Jigs (Preacher) technique and Daiwa Tatula Elite Series Casting Rods - 2018 Release - EOL on Guntersville Lake. Additional comments from this report: "One of the first flatheads I caught bass fishing what !???!?!?!?! Come to find out something cool and hidden in this particular spot yet all over the lake ! For some odd reason the fatties were going insane for the big hair as well as the dink bass. I would throw hair from 15-22 ft. It very simple and fun and doesn't take much time to learn ! Bomb it out give it a 3 Mississippi count burn it spot for a 5 Mississippi and then repeat repeat repeat every 7 seconds. Fish shoot up and simply eat it . May I add this flatty also spit up a shad 6 inches by 3 inches which is the same profile as the hair that Cumberland lures uses ! Must keep this above the rocks and sand this is a mid water column bait that only works in the higher or mid columns of the water ! Love this bait mainly uses very cheap and easy gets em all. Hook never bent on the big flatty or multiple 3+ bass. "

Bradley Leuthner reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Large Hair Jigs (Preacher) technique and Daiwa BLX Bass Casting Rods on Lake Minnetonka. Additional comments from this report: "The bass have made it out. They are hanging out in 12 feet plus. Look for hard bottoms and clumps of coontail. My go to is a outkast chicken. If that's not working try a drop shot."
