David "Paycheck" Pechacek
Johns Lake (FL)
David "Paycheck" Pechacek reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Hard Topwater (Prop) technique and St. Croix Mojo Bass Glass Casting Rods - EOL on Johns Lake . Additional comments from this report: "The fish are now in their summer time patterns here in Florida and the key to catching fish on this lake is to follow the "bait"! You can either idle around on your graphs and look for it above the weeds or you can put ur trolling motor on high and look for activity. Or as I like to do. Just find the windy shorelines! The bait is pushed along those areas and the Bass follow suit. High speed Reel is key to keep those fish pegged over the grass and not letting them burry you in it. Also I prefer a longer rod than most with my topwater to get a little further of casts. :) "

Additional comments from this report: "Hoot is part of the Otter Tail River diversion into a power plant located in Fergus Falls. The river enters the lake through a culvert on the north end and exits into a channel on the south connecting to Wright Lake. Follow this smallmouth superhighway and you’ll find fish located on structure throughout. Wild Rice on this lake especially. "
