Use small red worms with a trailer. The Bluegills hit better with live fresh worms...change often. Cast out near the current but at the ledge. The fish are sitting in the calm away from the strong current. Attach your lure with a loop knot."

Reported by
Keith Mccullough
Broken Bow Lake (OK)
Keith Mccullough reported catching Crappie using the Bobbers technique and Sufix Elite on Broken Bow Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Find rocky banks in back off coves where crappie would be spawning and start with your bobber depth around 6ft and start to figure out how deep you need your jig to be. You will have to move your bobber up and down to figure out the right depth. You can throw it out and let it just set or you can pop and reel the bobber back in super slow. Also if you see any buck brush in the water be sure to cast around it because the crappie love to spawn around it as well. "
Sufix 832 Braid

We targeted wind-blown weed lines in 10 feet of water and searched for fish. Once we located a pod we hung leeches under slip bobbers. The fish were cruising and we had to move constantly to stay with them.

Kail’s Fishing Reports reported catching Crappie using the Bobbers technique and Berkley Trilene XL - EOL on Lake Minnetonka. Additional comments from this report: "Sometimes the dead stick is the right stick!, I was out and throwing everything at them and nothing was working other them the simple jig and a bobber. Drill out a area in the basin, I like to hang on the edge where the drop off ends and start there. Use your electronics and set your bobber just above the fish. Crappies feed up and just let your waxie or minnow do the work. If using a minnow hook it just behind the dorsal fin. Good Luck!"
