Sufix Ice Magic

Reported by
Pierce Knarr

Rainbow Flowage (WI)

Pierce Knarr reported catching Crappie using the Ice Fishing Spoons technique and Sufix Ice Magic on Rainbow Flowage. Additional comments from this report: "The big crappies are biting! Find a section of river channel with wood nearby and they should come rolling through. We found fish in 14-16 feet and when they would come through they were very agressive and took no hesitation to get to bite."

Reported by
Sawyer Schugel

Lake Minnetonka (MN)

Sawyer Schugel reported catching Crappie using the Ice Fishing Spoons technique and Sufix Ice Magic on Lake Minnetonka. Additional comments from this report: "Can't say enough good things about the sufix ice magic fluorocarbon ice line. Fishing for crappies in crystal bay on Lake Minnetonka. Didn't catch many crappies but this pike had it completely swallowed, even on 3 pound test that line held up. Probably my favorite line that I've used ice fishing for sure. Fished from 6am-12 pm and crappies only bit from 6-7am. Was extremely slow, fished anywhere from 12-35 foot of water and only found a few of them. They were not necessarily schooled up. Still fun to be out! Omnia doesn't have the clam tikka minnow, but that was the better bait today, just a natural perch color."

Brian M

Lake Independence (MN)

Brian M reported catching Crappie using the Ice Fishing Spoons technique and Sufix Ice Magic on Lake Independence. Additional comments from this report: "Spent a couple of hours looking before locating a school in about 25 feet of water. They were relating to the hard-to-soft bottom transition on the edges of the main basin. I was able to drill right on top of them and sit for a half hour and pull half dozen fish out of the school. Not skittish at all today."

Sufix 832 Performance Ice Braid

Kail’s Fishing Reports

Mille Lacs Lake (MN)

Kail’s Fishing Reports reported catching Walleye using the Ice Fishing Spoons technique and Sufix 832 Performance Ice Braid on Mille Lacs Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Mille Lacs is one of the best walleyes lakes in the upper midwest. Do some research and look for areas that are away from the crowds. Use your lake maps to locate small humps-reefs and hit the edges during the day and on the break and top in low light days and at night. Use your electronics to locate fish and move around. Tip your spoon with a minnow head, when you cut it off break the air bladder. I like to use braid with a short leader of mono, but you can use mono the hole way, the suffix ice braid does't hold water like normal braid. Good Luck!"

Reported by
Joe Ponessa

Lake of the Woods (US) (MN)

Joe Ponessa reported catching Walleye using the Ice Fishing Spoons technique and Sufix 832 Performance Ice Braid on Lake of the Woods (US). Additional comments from this report: "Plenty of action out in 30-31 feet, roughly 3-3.5 miles off Pine Island from the south shore. Mostly small saugers, but having good electronics was key to seeing larger walleyes suspended 15-20 feet down chasing large schools of emerald shiners. Kept enough decent keeper sauger/walleye for dinner and released 3 nice slot fish (20-22 inchers)."

Reported by
Kipp Youngquist

Lake Minnetonka (MN)

Kipp Youngquist reported catching Walleye using the Ice Fishing Spoons technique and Sufix 832 Performance Ice Braid on Lake Minnetonka. Additional comments from this report: "There was roughly 4 to 5 inches of safe ice in the bay that we were fishing. This particular fish came off a tip up in 6 feet of water, but we caught a few roaming what’s left of the weed line in 8-10 feet. Rattling spoons tipped with a minnow head were most productive. "

Sufix InvisiLine Ice Fluorocarbon

$7.49

Reported by
Dylan Sluis

Upper Red Lake (MN)

Dylan Sluis reported catching Walleye using the Ice Fishing Spoons technique and Sufix InvisiLine Ice Fluorocarbon on Upper Red Lake. Additional comments from this report: "First time getting out to Red Lake late ice. Had a tun of fun and caught my limit fairly quickly. Caught my fish in around 14ft of water. There was about 25in of ice when I went out. Fish were still very aggressive which surprised me as it is late ice. Caught my fish on a Clam Leech Flutter Spoon and a Clam Tikka Minnow(3/16oz). Work the baits aggressively as that what they seemed to like. I also caught a 22in walleye on an I Fish Pro which was cool cause you don't catch a lot of walleye 20+ inches on Red Lake."

Reported by
Stephanie Lawson

Big Rice Lake (MN)

Stephanie Lawson reported catching Yellow Perch using the Ice Fishing Spoons technique and Sufix InvisiLine Ice Fluorocarbon on Big Rice Lake. Additional comments from this report: "On 12/9/21, this Lake had approx 6-8" of ice. Had the wheeler out on it. Because this lake has a max depth of 5 feet, interesting enough you fish it like late spring ice. Drilling multiple holes in the reeds and on the outer edges of clumps, you'd find very healthy 9-12" perch and good eater size walleyes were extremely aggressive for the rattling spoon as well. My 4lb test held up but may want to go up a size. Had to deal with many pesky pike as well. Green/gold was the favorite color tipped with a tiny chunk of minnow. Tight lines!"
