I’m finding fishing in the backs of creeks in matted grass switching between the Stanley Ribbit and a Pad Crasher for different actions to call a few up. Also was able to catch a few extras walking a 6th sense dogma over some submerged grass on a flat. Things should be picking up so get ready for those fall fatties because it’s coming!"

GTFISHING
Potomac River (WV)
GTFISHING reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Frogs/Toads technique and Seaguar Smackdown Braided Line on Potomac River. Additional comments from this report: "Launching out of Smallwood State Park one doesn't have to idle far to start slinging a hollow body frog/popping frog. Largemouth fishing is tough with very few bite throughout the day, if you're fishing a derby every bite must count. Be prepared to hook into the infamous Northern Snakehead while twitching a frog early & late in the day. Break out the heavy rods & at least 50 lb braided line to muscle those bites out of the endless aquatic vegetation in every creek I've been in this week up & down the Potomac River above the salt line above the 301 bridge. Its hot & very humid on the river so keep plenty of water handy to stay hydrated. Tight lines!!"

Reported by
Bmorris07
Clarks Hill Reservoir (GA, SC)
Bmorris07 reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Frogs/Toads technique and Seaguar Smackdown Braided Line on Clarks Hill Reservoir. Additional comments from this report: "I saw water temps around 79-83 degrees in the backs of creeks targeting remaining bluegill bed pockets. Most of the bluegill spawn has wrapped up, but there are still big largemouth hanging around and ready to eat. The bite has been a lot more active early in the morning, but they pull up really tight to cover as the sun gets up."

Ohio Angler reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Frogs/Toads technique and PowerPro Spectra Braid on Indian Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Hot summer days are making the bass eat early. Fishing the lilypads early in the morning with a hollow-body frog can produce some amazing results. Make sure you have good strong braid along with a heavy action rod. It's very important that when the bass crushes the frog, give them a 2-second delay. This will increase your hook-up ratio and will lessen the chance to pulling the bait out of their mouth before they eat it."
