GTFISHING
Lake Norman (NC)
GTFISHING reported catching Spotted Bass using the Hard Topwater (Walking) technique and Sufix Elite on Lake Norman. Additional comments from this report: "Topwater is on fire on Lake Norman right now, the only bait needed to catch 30 plus spotted bass throughout the day is a Teckel Kicknocker!! The only baits in my boat right now is a black shore, bone, & chrome Kicknocker, from safe lift to sunset wind blown points are holding schools of spotted bass ready to crush a topwater plug being twitch above them. My last 4 sessions have all started & ended with the Teckel in my hands! Everything from dinks to 4 pounders are feeding heavily throughout the day. If you find the right point it will be your only spot you'll need to find on your next outing. Changed out those factory hooks to some Owner trebles because the Lake Norman spots are looking to destroy any & everything that comes into their personal space. Tight lines!! Twitch Twitch Boom💥"

Reported by
Jay Roberts
Birch Lake
Jay Roberts reported catching Smallmouth Bass using the Hard Topwater (Walking) technique and Sufix Elite on Birch Lake. Additional comments from this report: "This time of year the smallmouth are targetting schools of minnows out in the middle of the lake in 40 to 60 feet of water. This is reactive fishing. Your trolling motor is on high and when you see fish busting the schools on the surface you move quickly in that direction. Make long casts with walking style baits and wait for the attack. Sometimes 2 or 3 fish can be pulled off of one school of the small blueish white minnows."

Tom reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Hard Topwater (Walking) technique and Sufix 832 Braid on Chisago Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Get to this access early. Lots of bass fisherman at this lake in the morning then changes over to recreational boaters later in the day. Work your way around the East side of Chicago Lake. there you'll find submerged trees that shoot out of the water. Toss your frog (or also now a spider) around those trees for nice largemouth. As you move further South along that edge, there will be a bay full of lily pads. Have a blast tossing frogs, wacky rigs, ned rigs and dragging Texas rigs on and through those lilys. If bass are deep, tie on a drop shot set up just north of the islands above deep grass mats in 13 ft of water."
