I was also cycling through baits and caught a couple on a firecraw jackhammer. If there was grass growing in the pocket, I could catch at least a few fish. I was bottom hopping my LV-500, and the fish were smashing it. I caught many fish in the 2.5-3.5 pound range with one 5 pound kicker. I pair this bait with a stouter rod and heavier line for this application. The longer stiffer rod allows me to steer my bait clear of wood.
