Sufix Ice Magic

$4.49

Reported by
Omnia Community Member

Red House Lake (NY)

Omnia Community Member reported catching Trout using the Ice Fishing Jigs technique and Sufix Ice Magic on Red House Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Trout are difficult to come by, but there is a chance at a GIANT. Caught a 27 inch rainbow through the ice on a jig and plastic and others have caught a few 12-15 inchers. There is also a pretty good chance at catching small Perch or other panfish and a bass if you get lucky. Tip-ups with small minnows or small jigs and plastics/waxies seem to do well for trout. Focus on the deeper water areas by the dam, but keep your bait on the shallow side. If your tip-up is in 10 feet, set your bait to 5 feet since the trout tend to roam a lot. Good luck!"

Sam Korducki

Shawano Lake (WI)

Sam Korducki reported catching Panfish / Bluegill using the Ice Fishing Jigs technique and Sufix Ice Magic on Shawano Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Fish were very spread out on the lake depending on species. Perch were caught in about 4-5 feet of water in the woods, bluegills in 12, and crappies in the basins. Took a lot of weeding through smaller fish in order to get the bigger ones to commit. Fish were keyed in on smaller 4mm tungstens and 1/32 oz jigging spoons. "

Reported by
Joe Kyri

Round Lake (WI) (WI)

Joe Kyri reported catching Crappie using the Ice Fishing Jigs technique and Sufix Ice Magic on Round Lake (WI). Additional comments from this report: "Big crappies love the Eagle Claw Tungsten Widegap. They keep fish biting and keep them pinned. The best way to catch deep crappie through ice is by structure!"

Sufix InvisiLine Ice Fluorocarbon

$7.49

Reported by
Andrew M

Haithco Lake (MI)

Andrew M reported catching Panfish / Bluegill using the Ice Fishing Jigs technique and Sufix InvisiLine Ice Fluorocarbon on Haithco Lake. Additional comments from this report: "They want the smallest jig possible, near bottom. Better to be near the center of the lake instead of edges for panfish. Not much size to these guys. Biggest of the day, was released for another day "

BecomingMinnesotan

Medicine Lake (MN)

BecomingMinnesotan reported catching Yellow Perch using the Ice Fishing Jigs technique and Sufix InvisiLine Ice Fluorocarbon on Medicine Lake. Additional comments from this report: "I mainly fish from the West Side but tried to see what I could find coming from the north. Check Navionics for structure. I stayed between 15-20 feet working points and steep drop-offs into flat basins and found perch. I would use a rattling spoon to call them in tipped with wax worms. Today they didn't want to bite so I sized down to a tungsten jig. After trying several other colors (white, motor oil, and green pumpkin) I was able to start catching them on a pink plastic."

Reported by
Ryan kieke

Lake Le Homme Dieu (MN)

Ryan kieke reported catching Crappie using the Ice Fishing Jigs technique and Sufix InvisiLine Ice Fluorocarbon on Lake Le Homme Dieu. Additional comments from this report: "Overcast day pretty calm. first day with snow so it was easier to walk around and drill holes and not spook fish. Bigger crappies seemed to be shallower in the weeds roaming flats next to deep water areas. small movements of the tungsten jog or getting aggressive with the pinhead was key. There was not really an in between. Bigger schools were in deeper basins or funnels. smaller in size but more numbers. "

Berkley Trilene XL

$9.99

Reported by
Kail’s Fishing Reports

Medicine Lake (MN)

Kail’s Fishing Reports reported catching Panfish / Bluegill using the Ice Fishing Jigs technique and Berkley Trilene XL on Medicine Lake. Additional comments from this report: "First ice and Last ice is the best fishing, with the temps rising and the snow melting it is bringing oxygen and warmer water into the shallows,. Locate a shallow area and use your camera to find green weeds. Drill out the area and I have been Using My Garmin live to stay on the fish.It is better to have the holes drilled to not spook them in the shallow water. Drop down and use a bouncing action on the jig, if they don't hit right away play keep away with them by pulling away very slowly. Tip the jig with a waxie or a Maggot or a plastic. Good Luck! "

Additional comments from this report: "We didn’t have a ton of luck but it didn’t sound like anyone else did either. Caught 2 perch, 2 bluegill, a smaller large mouth, and a catfish. All were on a kenders jig (pink) with a wax worm. I caught all mine about 25ft off the bank around a lay down. 10 foot of water."
