Additional comments from this report: "Sitting in about 13' of water and casting my jerk bait to shore up and around laydowns, working my bait with a 1, 2, 1, cadence pausing every so often the key was to work my bait on slack line so that it would kick all the way around 180°and The fish would kill it on the pause."

Additional comments from this report: "Impromptu visit to Lake Montclair for the first time. Water was surprisingly clear with 8-10ft visibility. Sunny/steady 10mph wind. Fished a Vision 110 and Rerange from the bank and managed to land a few decent pre-spawn fish. Bites came on short pauses. "

Fish were slowish in the morning as expected, but as the sun began to shine and the wind picked up, the bite was on. Between points, rocky banks, small ditches and stickups the fish that I saw on Livescope would at minimum track the bait if they saw it. The wildest pattern I found was fish using sheets of ice as cover... I'd throw it as close to the ice as possible and nearly every time, a fish would dart out from under it. Never would this Florida boy ever thunk he'd be catching fish from under ice. Nothing massive to write home about, but 12 fish hit the deck and the best 5 went close to 13lbs. Additional comments from this report: "This is a beautiful place to fish but there is a lot of activity and pressure in this little lake and you can only fish from the bank. At sunrise, they are a lot less skittish and I was able to catch some smallmouth on the opposite side of the damn. Jerk bait with long pauses and working a senko slow was the ticket on this day."

Additional comments from this report: "I was fishing 6-8' flats, I would scan around with livescope until I saw small isolated patches of grass and cast just past them. I worked the jerkbait with a standard jerk,jerk,pause cadence and bites were coming within 10 feet of the isolated weed patches."
