Reported by
Riley Bowen
Lake St Clair (MI)
Riley Bowen reported catching Smallmouth Bass using the Hard Jerkbaits technique and Seaguar InvizX 100% Fluorocarbon on Lake St Clair. Additional comments from this report: "A lot of fish are chasing crawfish right now but there are scattered bait balls around here and there. Our numbers came off of the bottom but our big fish were what came on jerkbaits. We caught a 5 and a 6 pounder to anchor a 22 pound bag. You will go through lows, but when you find a little school of them you'll catch the snot out of them. "

Seaguar Red Label 100% Fluorocarbon
$16.99 – $94.99

Reported by
Niko Kitsinis
Thomas O. Marsh Park Pond (OH)
Niko Kitsinis reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Hard Jerkbaits technique and Seaguar Red Label 100% Fluorocarbon on Thomas O. Marsh Park Pond. Additional comments from this report: "Had a great day today and caught everything on Jerkbaits. The largest came on the Table Rock SP and was 20.25” and 4.6lbs. I also used the gill color and caught some nice ones. They completely switched up how the want the bait presented. They wanted it fast and furious last week today you had to work it like it was the middle of Winter and they would smash it on the pause. I was fishing the jerkbait so slow and the “jerks” were more like taps. I was just moving the bait enough to show the color of side and reeling it slowly. Most fish would hit it on the pause. The fish are either suspended over the submerged grass or down in it. Just adjust the jerkbait to keep it right above the grass and work it slow. "

Reported by
Mat Titmus
Lake St Clair (MI)
Mat Titmus reported catching Smallmouth Bass using the Hard Jerkbaits technique and Seaguar Red Label 100% Fluorocarbon on Lake St Clair. Additional comments from this report: "5/15/21 Lightly cloudy with blue skies, winds from the south early on and switched to the east. Water temps in the AM were 47-48 Degrees. Fished in the northern part of the lake in Anchor Bay, with little success, and headed south to the mile roads later in the day to check that out. It was a slow day and it seems the smaller males were the only ones out roaming and feeding. I'm under suspicion that they are bedding up right now, but I didn't go looking for beds, I'll wait until they are done. Need to preserve this amazing fishery! I ran jerkbaits off the shoreline and it was producing fairly well, they were just slow, they waited for the longest pauses. It seemed that I was getting their attention with jigs and swimbaits, but as soon as it touched bottom they lost interest... It was so weird watching that happen on the livescope, I thought it would be the opposite."
