Reported by
RJC
Detroit River
RJC reported catching Walleye using the Vertical Jigging Deep (20+') technique and PowerPro Braid on Detroit River. Additional comments from this report: "Fishing is still hit or miss on the river. Spent most of the day around the bell isle bridge had 5 bites and landed 2 fish. Water is still around the 36-38 degree with a slight stain. They were smacking the hair jig just couldn’t seem to keep them pinned. Darker fluke on a dark 1oz jig head also seem to work.. marked a ton of fish mid to upper river just not aggressive yet.. also ran some spot on the Canadian side water was 38-39 but muddy had a few short strikes but that was about it."

Reported by

Additional comments from this report: "Rig a Lunker City Fin-s-Minnow or your favorite soft plastic on a 3/4-1oz jig head with a stinger hook. 35-40 feet deep, surface water temp should be around 40 degrees"
Seaguar InvizX 100% Fluorocarbon
$26.99 – $137.99

Reported by
Nate Boenning
Wisconsin River Flowage (WI)
Nate Boenning reported catching Walleye using the Vertical Jigging Deep (20+') technique and Seaguar InvizX 100% Fluorocarbon on Wisconsin River Flowage. Additional comments from this report: "Walleye we’re eating after fluke was hopped off the bottom. They were living around major current breaks. "

Reported by
Southshore Smallmouth Charters
Detroit River
Southshore Smallmouth Charters reported catching Walleye using the Vertical Jigging Deep (20+') technique and Seaguar InvizX 100% Fluorocarbon on Detroit River. Additional comments from this report: "The Detroit River water temps are remaining unseasonably cold as our weather here is a bit behind. To combat the occasional slow bite I’ve gone to a blade bait which is convincing lethargic pre spawn fish to bite when it gets tough. Alternating from lowering it down to dropping it to free fall has made the difference. "

Reported by
Brandon Hollaway
South Holston Lake (TN, VA)
Brandon Hollaway reported catching Lake Trout using the Vertical Jigging Deep (20+') technique and Seaguar InvizX 100% Fluorocarbon on South Holston Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Lake trout can often be found in 20-40ft of water during the winter, following the schools of baitfish. Jigging a 1/2oz chrome spoon through the baitfish can often produce great results. "

Kail’s Fishing Reports reported catching Crappie using the Vertical Jigging Deep (20+') technique and Berkley Fireline on Long Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Use your electronics to locate the fish, they will look like a Christmas Tree on your normal 2D sonar. Look over basin areas of the lake and find soft bottom areas in about 30' of water. I like to tie my mono to the braid giving about 5' of mono and putting the snap swivel on the bait but you can use a barrel swivel to jion the mono to the braid. Jig above them slowly and when you feel them bite give a second before you set the hook. Good Luck"
