Reported by
Ben Hutchins

Lake James (NC)

Ben Hutchins reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Carolina Rigs technique and Shimano Curado MGL 150 Casting Reel on Lake James. Additional comments from this report: "I caught fish dragging a carolina rig across humps and points. I started out the morning throwing a walking topwater bait over points with little luck. I then switched to the carolina righ once the sun got up and was able to put some fish in the boat."

Reported by
Bmorris07

Clarks Hill Reservoir (GA, SC)

Bmorris07 reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Carolina Rigs technique and Shimano Curado MGL 150 Casting Reel on Clarks Hill Reservoir. Additional comments from this report: "The conditions were two days post frontal, 5-7 mph east winds, blue bird skies, and 6-8 foot of visibility. The bigger bites came off of chunkier rock while a few came from some brush piles. I tried the shallow bite around mid day with no luck, so I went back to rock piles in about 15-25 feet if water and continued to get bites. "

Reported by
The Chub King

Oneida Lake (NY)

The Chub King reported catching Smallmouth Bass using the Carolina Rigs technique and Shimano Curado MGL 150 Casting Reel on Oneida Lake . Additional comments from this report: "Early summer/late post spawn pattern on the first week in July. Sunny and calm day with water about 71. The key was to find some different looking rock structure in that 10-15ft depth. Everybody's favorite ball and chain C-Rig produced the best. The fish were spitting up perch on the way to the boat though and could be caught with jerkbaits, I just couldnt get them as consistently as I could being on bottom."

Shimano Curado DC Casting Reel

$304.99

Reported by
Dominic Altavilla

Lake Champlain (NY, VT)

Dominic Altavilla reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Carolina Rigs technique and Shimano Curado DC Casting Reel on Lake Champlain. Additional comments from this report: "Carolina rigged break walls and pilings. Best retrieve was slow and steady. I added chartreuse to the claws early morning or when it was cloudy. I used straight green pumpkin the rest of the time. My leader length was about 30”. Although they were eating a craw bait, a lot of the bass were spitting up perch."

Reported by
Owen Waddell

Pickwick Lake

Owen Waddell reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Carolina Rigs technique and Shimano Curado DC Casting Reel on Pickwick Lake. Additional comments from this report: "This was one of the best days I have had on the water. We were fishing main lake points and humps at the mouths of creeks. A Carolina rig was the hot technique for the day."

Reported by
Lee

Toledo Bend Reservoir (LA, TX)

Lee reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Carolina Rigs technique and Shimano Curado DC Casting Reel on Toledo Bend Reservoir. Additional comments from this report: "Caught some on a crank bait but the best fish came on Carolina rigged Slinko in black/blue. We had a few break-offs and it hurt as it was a very slow bite. We believe the south end of Toledo, where we fished turned over this past week, causing the fish to scatter and the bite to get very tough. Should be better next weekend. "

Daiwa Tatula CT 100 Casting Reel - EOL

$119.99

Reported by
Xavier Lortie

St. Lawrence River (NY)

Xavier Lortie reported catching Smallmouth Bass using the Carolina Rigs technique and Daiwa Tatula CT 100 Casting Reel - EOL on St. Lawrence River. Additional comments from this report: "Overcast day, so we had in mind that the smallies wouldn't show themselves in the shallows. We drifted over rock piles in 25-15fow. A little bit shallower than we would drift in the summer. Water temps were around 63 degrees Farenheit with the warming trend we've had lately. It's been messing up the fall bite, but we still managed to find some good fish. "

Reported by
Michael Rekas

Pool 1 Mississippi (MN)

Michael Rekas reported catching Smallmouth Bass using the Carolina Rigs technique and Daiwa Tatula CT 100 Casting Reel - EOL on Pool 1 Mississippi. Additional comments from this report: "Spent about two hours down at the river today, and dragging was the deal. Caught four fish total, all dragging either a carolina rig or ned rig. Low and slow was the key today, all bites on the carolina rig came either during a pause in between drags or on the fall. Good luck!"
