SnowtaBass

Lower Prior Lake (MN)

SnowtaBass reported catching Panfish / Bluegill using the Ice Fishing Jigs technique and Pflueger President Micro Spinning Reel - EOL on Lower Prior Lake. Additional comments from this report: "The day started out slow and by the end it was very productive. Highs in the upper 20's and partly sunny. We set up on a basin for bluegills in about 20' of water. Using Kenders tungsten with clam soft plastics we found some decent gills. They seemed to get bored of the colors after a while so we would rotate colors and it seemed to produce quite well. We also had a couple northerns on tip ups throughout the day. Rotating the colors seemed to be the key though as the school moved in and out mid morning to mid afternoon."

Biggest of the day, was released for another day "

Sam Korducki reported catching Panfish / Bluegill using the Ice Fishing Jigs technique and 13 Fishing Black Betty FreeFall Carbon Ice Fishing Reel on Lake Mendota. Additional comments from this report: "Fish were located on submerged weeds. Plastics and tip downs outperformed jigs and wax worms. "

Reported by
Eric Hoeft

South Center Lake (MN)

Eric Hoeft reported catching Crappie using the Ice Fishing Jigs technique and 13 Fishing Black Betty FreeFall Carbon Ice Fishing Reel on South Center Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Moved back and forth between deeper open water and the deepest weedline we could find. Mixed waxies and soft plastics as jig trailers, if one option seemed to be losing the interest of the fish we'd switch and usually get a few more bites before having to move to the next spot. Used LiveScope in forward facing mode to track schools and then used down mode to allow the two of us to fish next to each other off of one graph."

Pflueger Trion Micro Spinning Reel - EOL

$49.99

Reported by
Kail’s Fishing Reports

Medicine Lake (MN)

Kail’s Fishing Reports reported catching Panfish / Bluegill using the Ice Fishing Jigs technique and Pflueger Trion Micro Spinning Reel - EOL on Medicine Lake. Additional comments from this report: "First ice and Last ice is the best fishing, with the temps rising and the snow melting it is bringing oxygen and warmer water into the shallows,. Locate a shallow area and use your camera to find green weeds. Drill out the area and I have been Using My Garmin live to stay on the fish.It is better to have the holes drilled to not spook them in the shallow water. Drop down and use a bouncing action on the jig, if they don't hit right away play keep away with them by pulling away very slowly. Tip the jig with a waxie or a Maggot or a plastic. Good Luck! "
