Additional comments from this report: "Got on the water with Nathan Mountain. Check him out, Nathan Mountain Outdoors, super good dude. Put us on fish when we didn’t see many other folks catching. Found them on rocky points typically around brush. Ott Defoe even ran past us, so you know we were in the right area. Saw some crappie scopin’ but they were very finicky and wouldn’t commit. Fun and beautiful day on the water! "

Pool 7 Lake Onalaska (WI)

Additional comments from this report: "Fishing lay downs and undercut banks. Tossing a jackhammer around structure to find the fish. Once you got the first bite. Slowing down and flipping a jig in and around the laydowns and nearby stumps produced the best. Lots of 2.5 and 3lbers in the 4 to 6 ft of water in the back of the laydowns"

Reported by
M T

Balsam Lake (WI)

M T reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Structure Jigs technique and Daiwa Tatula Elite Pitch Flip Casting Reel on Balsam Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Outing date 04/06/2024, fished from 8am to 230pm. Cool morning, clear skies, warming up. Wind was light to begin and picked up throughout the day, to end quite breezy. Water temps ranged from about 41 to 47 at the warmest. Saw largemouth and pike and panfish up shallow in the warmest water, but no interest in baits. Tried drop off near rocky point and caught two sow bellies in about 9 to 10 feet of water flipping and dragging an All Terrain jig with Yamamotocraw on back. 19.5 and 18 inches within 5 minutes at about 1pm. Had another biggie follow to the boat in the same location, about same size or bigger. Tried the Mastiff line but didn't notice much difference over my typical Invisx and Spro Gouken fluorocarbon lines, more time needed to see if it is better or not. Overall a good day with the two big fish."
