Additional comments from this report: "Found a big school of good perch over 10"s using fatheads targeting the best remaining live grass. Daiwa Ballistic MQ LT Spinning Reel (Past Generation)
$179.99

Reported by
Matt Shene
Oneida Lake (NY)
Matt Shene reported catching Yellow Perch using the Live Bait Rigs technique and Daiwa Ballistic MQ LT Spinning Reel (Past Generation) on Oneida Lake . Additional comments from this report: "Longer nights, colder days, and the progression of the season have perch chasing minnows wherever they can be found. In this case, shad, small perch, and various other minnows are schooling in the slightly warmer (58 degree) shallower (11-14') flats just off the islands on the west end of the lake. Fatheads drop shotted anywhere from 1-3' off the bottom produced bites with perch batting in size from 5-12" depending on the cast. A light wind changing in direction allowed for some movement. However, the perch were roaming, so finding a consistent and successful line was not possible. With over 50 perch caught (approximately 20 keepers) in a couple hours, it was a good day. "

Matt Shene reported catching Walleye using the Live Bait Rigs technique and Daiwa Fuego LT Spinning Reel on Oneida Lake . Additional comments from this report: "On a warm afternoon with light wind, I started casting inline weights with a locally made Hammer worm harness in orange to weed edges. The pickerel and rock bass were active, but walleye were hard to find. I moved to deeper ledges (15-19', 24-27', and 30-32') and found a mix of keeper and short walleye. There were lots of fish on the graph, but only the occasional bite. Every fish was spitting up perch fry as they were caught, so it's likely that they are well fed at this point in the summer."
