Best Large Soft Body Swimbait Reel

Additional comments from this report: "We started out the morning fishing the shad spawn on main lake rip rap. We did this by throwing a buzz bait and a spinnerbait parallel to the rip rap. Once the sun got up we started fishing shallow coves in the backs of creeks. We threw the Magdraft around shady seawalls and skipped it up under docks. We let the Magdraft sink for a few seconds and then reeled it very slowly. The cruising bass and bass on beds could not resist it. This technique is great for catching bigger-than-average fish. "

I’ve avoided wake baits mostly because of cost, but the Nessie caught my eye. This was the first time using it this year. I didn’t catch many but did catch a good size one. Great bait and easy to throw on my 7’3” Dobyns MHF matched with my Shimano Curado with 20lb Izorline CoPoly. "

Using the weighted beast hook allowed me to stay deeper but shallow enough to stay above the submerged grass."
