SnowtaBass
Lake Minnetonka (MN)
SnowtaBass reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Texas Rigs (Pitch/Flip) technique and Daiwa Tatula SV TW103 Casting Reel on Lake Minnetonka. Additional comments from this report: "Minnetonka can have vast amounts of submerged vegetation through out the lake. In the summer months the fish can be schooled up underneath the deeper tall milfoil. Pitch a Texas rigged soft plastic into the various milfoil patches. Let the bait hit bottom and twitch it a bit and you will know shortly if they are there. It can take time locating them but when you do it can be a massive school. Cover as much ground as you can and you should be able to find a good quality bite. If you can locate hard bottom within the vegetation it is usually a plus. "

Reported by
Erik Gaffron
Lake Waconia (MN)
Erik Gaffron reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Texas Rigs (Pitch/Flip) technique and Daiwa Tatula SV TW103 Casting Reel on Lake Waconia. Additional comments from this report: "Coontail and Milfoil Rule the game on this lake for the most part from early to late summer. Targeting patchy and matted vegetation with a Texas rig weedless craw tube, creature bait or your favorite flipping bait is a consistent way to catch both numbers and size. I rig my Texas rig with a 3/8 to 5/8s bullet weight, a VMC Ringed HD wide gap hook sized to my lure of choice (most often 4/0). Additionally don't sleep on the deep off shore rock piles and sand patches scattered throughout the lake."
Daiwa Tatula Elite Pitch Flip Casting Reel
$249.99

Reported by
Joey Vanyo
Cedar Lake (MN)
Joey Vanyo reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Texas Rigs (Pitch/Flip) technique and Daiwa Tatula Elite Pitch Flip Casting Reel on Cedar Lake. Additional comments from this report: "The fish are relating to the deeper grass edges in 8-10FOW. Pitching a 4-5" creature bait worked best. "

Reported by
Bemidji State Fishing Team
Upper Mission Lake (MN)
Bemidji State Fishing Team reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Texas Rigs (Pitch/Flip) technique and Daiwa Tatula Elite Pitch Flip Casting Reel on Upper Mission Lake. Additional comments from this report: "There is an abundance of reeds in the lake but the lake is not that large. If you slow down and really pick apart the key areas like points or thick reed clumps you will find success. "

Shimano Curado DC Casting Reel
$259.99

Reported by
TouFue Moua
Alexander Lake (WI)
TouFue Moua reported catching Smallmouth Bass using the Texas Rigs (Pitch/Flip) technique and Shimano Curado DC Casting Reel on Alexander Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Fished a tournament last Saturday and was able to place. All smallies average 18 inches and were caught using shallow crank bait along the rocky shoreline or Texas Rig with the strike king black and blue rage menace in deeper 4-6ft pockets up from the dam going down to the main lake. If fishing stronger current I used a 3/8th weight with a tube. "

Reported by
Mac
Table Rock Lake (AR, MO)
Mac reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Texas Rigs (Pitch/Flip) technique and Shimano Curado DC Casting Reel on Table Rock Lake. Additional comments from this report: "There are a few largemouth pushing into bushes with the current high water conditions. You can spend a good portion of the day flipping a Texas rig into that shallow brush and pulling out decent fish in that 2-3lb range. The storms have been firing up these fish, but post front fish will be shy. Its hard to get specific with color, as the water clarity is changing day by day. What I tagged as the hotbait is the color I chose to throw with 5-6ft visibility."

Reported by
Matthew Mattingly
Cedar Creek Lake (KY)
Matthew Mattingly reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Texas Rigs (Pitch/Flip) technique and Shimano Curado DC Casting Reel on Cedar Creek Lake. Additional comments from this report: "What a blast on one of Kentucky's only trophy managed lakes! When the water hit 60 degrees, I put the trolling motor on high and searched every pocket and creek arm seeing hundreds on fish on the bed. Backing off the best and pitching a Big Bites Bait Fighting frog was the most productive. Each fish is different but most ended up taking it after working on them. "

Erik Peterson reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Texas Rigs (Pitch/Flip) technique and Daiwa Tatula SV TW103 Casting Reel on Lake of the Isles. Additional comments from this report: "Had a tournament on the chain of lakes on 7-25. Isles produced a lot of smaller fish in the 14"-15" range. The winning bag came from Cedar. Key techniques for the anglers were flipping matted grass or using Texas rigged baits for the shallow fish. Fishing the deep weedlines with drops shots or deep cranks are what produced the bigger fish and the top bags. Recreational traffic on the lakes was heavy starting around 10:00 am."
