Shimano Curado MGL 150 Casting Reel

$209.99

Reported by
Phelptwan

Hutchens Lake (MI)

Phelptwan reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Hard Topwater (Popping) technique and Shimano Curado MGL 150 Casting Reel on Hutchens Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Dead calm and an AMAZING amount of fog when we first got out. Water clarity was nuts as well, could easily see 15'+. Immediately got onto a top water bite and we probably caught 20-25 fish on poppers during the morning. We caught another 15 on assorted jerkbait, stickbait, and one decent one (see pic) on a chatterbait. The technique was a slow pop and sit with the top water, after 2 seconds or so they were just getting sucked down beneath the surface, barely a splash. We were targeting the deep patches of submerged vegetation for bigger fish. Casting up near the docks would get us fish as well, but they were much smaller. Lake has a no wake before 11, after 7:30 rule and at 11 it went nuts. We were getting swamped by the rec boaters and it started getting dangerous, so we got off the water."

Bmorris07

Lake Sinclair (GA)

Bmorris07 reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Hard Topwater (Popping) technique and Shimano Curado MGL 150 Casting Reel on Lake Sinclair. Additional comments from this report: "I spent most of my time focusing the rocks right below the Oconee dam. There was no water flow from generation, so the water was slick calm. I saw water temps from 68-72, and had to work the bait ultra slow to get bit. The bite was good and lasted until around 11. After that, I targeted shallow pockets off the main river channel in dying hydrilla with a chatterbait. "

Shimano Vanford Spinning Reel

$249.99 – $259.99

Reported by
Phelptwan

Kalamazoo Lake (MI)

Phelptwan reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Hard Topwater (Popping) technique and Shimano Vanford Spinning Reel on Kalamazoo Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Name of the game seemed to be fishing fast over submerged vegetation. Top water was fairly active when evening came around as well. Docks were ok with neds and wacky rigs but didn't product anything of significant size."

Reported by
Tim Miles

Smith Mountain Lake (VA)

Tim Miles reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Hard Topwater (Popping) technique and Shimano Vanford Spinning Reel on Smith Mountain Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Fished throughout the lack and found fish in various stages of the spawn. The most aggressive fish were post-spawn and chasing shallow bluegill around stumps, rocks, and docks. Best bite came late afternoon after showers left the area and the sun began to shine."
