Soft Jerkbaits
Few baits represent a wide variety of baitfish species like a soft jerkbait. A soft jerkbait is dynamite for chasing down Smallmouth, Largemouth, and Spotted Bass, but also excels when fished on a round jig head for species like Walleye and Northern Pike. When rigged weedless with a round bend worm hook or EWG hook, you can fish a soft jerkbait around vegetation and other forms of cover without hanging up, allowing you to present the qualities of a hard jerkbait in places you could never throw one. When fished with fast twitches on a slow reeling motion, a soft jerkbait comes to life underwater, triggering a predatory feeding instinct in fish looking to chase down an easy meal.
