Vertical Jigging Shallow (0-9')
Vertical jigging is often done directly over the boat with either a large jig or a spoon styled jig. Vertical jigging can be done for bass, walleye, and musky. One advantage that can make this style more productive is to use your electronics to see the bait. Using sonar technology, watch the bait fall through the water column and if fish are interacting with the bait allow them to eat it. By dropping the bait directly below the transducer and watching it on the sonar, you get a result that many anglers call “video game fishing”.
